Services — Application Maintenance & Support (TMA)

Application Maintenance & Support: a technical partner for the long term

A piece of business software isn't something you build and forget. Needs evolve, usage patterns change, regulatory constraints shift, technology moves forward. Without ongoing support, even a well-built solution ends up accumulating technical debt, losing performance and creating risk.

Application Maintenance & Support (TMA) and ongoing support keep your application performant, aligned with your real needs and adaptable — without tying up scarce technical skills in-house.

What is application maintenance & support?

Application Maintenance & Support (in French, Tierce Maintenance Applicative, or TMA) covers the full range of maintenance and evolution services for a piece of software or application, delivered by an external provider — who may or may not be the original developer.

01

Corrective maintenance

Identifying and fixing bugs, faults and regressions that occur in production.

02

Evolutive maintenance

Evolving features in response to the organisation's new needs: new use cases, process changes, regulatory developments.

03

Preventive maintenance

Maintaining the technical health of the application: dependency upgrades, security, performance, reducing technical debt.

Why outsource application maintenance?

Maintaining high-level technical skills in-house is costly — and often hard to justify when development needs are irregular. Outsourcing application maintenance gives you access to focused expertise, available when you need it, without the constraints of a permanent hire.

This is particularly relevant for SMEs, mid-sized companies and local authorities that have one or more business-critical applications, but no in-house IT department sized to maintain them.

Who is this for?

01

Existing applications that need maintaining

Organisations that have had a bespoke application built — by us or by another provider — and need a technical partner to maintain and evolve it.

02

SMEs and mid-sized companies without an in-house IT department

That want to hand over the technical management of their tools to a trusted partner.

03

Local authorities

With one or more business applications in production, seeking rigorous, well-documented follow-up.

04

Organisations in transition

Taking over an application from a previous provider and needing to secure continuity of service.

Our approach

Commitment
4 steps
From the takeover audit to ongoing anticipation
01

Takeover audit (if the application wasn't built by us)

Before taking on the maintenance of an existing application, we audit it: architecture, code quality, state of documentation, risk levels. This audit shapes our service commitments.

02

Tailored support agreement

We work with you to define the scope and service level suited to your situation: frequency of interventions, response times for issues, monthly evolution capacity, communication channels. Clear commitments, no catch-all clauses.

03

Follow-up and transparency

Every intervention is documented. You have access to the history of changes, fixes and technical decisions. Transparency is the foundation of a lasting partnership.

04

Anticipating changes

We don't just respond to requests. We track how your context is evolving — regulatory, technical, organisational — and flag upcoming work before it becomes urgent.

What this delivers

  • An application that's maintained, secured and kept up to date on an ongoing basis.
  • Reduced risk from technical debt and unaddressed vulnerabilities.
  • The ability to absorb changes without heavy rebuilds.
  • Internal teams freed from technical concerns.
  • A partnership relationship: one point of contact who knows your tool in depth.

Frequently asked questions

Can you take over maintenance of an application built by another provider?
Yes — subject to a prior audit. We review the existing codebase, its state of documentation and its risk levels before committing. The audit lets us set realistic, honest commitments.
What's the minimum level of commitment for a maintenance agreement?
It depends on the application's complexity and the desired frequency of evolution. We offer agreements suited to a range of needs — from minimal maintenance (fixes only) to active support with monthly evolution capacity. The initial scoping defines the level suited to your situation.
How are urgent requests (blocking bugs in production) handled?
Blocking incidents are covered by a specific response-time commitment, defined in the contract. We distinguish levels of criticality and adjust response times accordingly.
What's the difference between application maintenance and an evolution project?
Maintenance covers fixes and limited-scope changes, within a fixed-fee arrangement or a pre-agreed volume of days. Larger changes (significant new features, rebuilding a module) are covered by a separate project quote. We help you tell the two apart.
Can you add AI features to an existing application as part of a maintenance agreement?
Yes. Adding AI modules (task automation, decision support, document processing) to an existing application is one of the most common types of evolution. Depending on complexity, this can be handled through maintenance or as a dedicated evolution project.
